Currently July....already!?!

Wow! I can’t believe it is July already!! Will someone please tell me what happened to June?? This summer is flying by.

Today I am linking up with Oh Boy Fourth Grade for “Currently July”.  This is a fun link up where I share some of my thoughts with you.

1.       I am currently listening to Ed Sheeran.  I am in love with his voice.  His album has been in heavy rotation for me.

2.     I am currently loving my pin on button I ordered for TpT Vegas.  II saw so man bloggers that had gotten them so they would be recognized.  What a great idea!

3.     I am thinking that I am so hungry right now!  I am a breakfast person and it is around 8:30 am.  My tummy is definitely trying to get my attention.

4.    I want some fun in the sun!  I just got back to Michigan and I can wait to visit the beautiful lakes again!  I must say, I never thought Michigan would steal my heart but it has.  The Pure Michigan commercials don’t do this place justice. It is beautiful!!

5.    Ok, I need to print business cards for Vegas so that I can network with them!  I have old ones, but I had the back redesigned so that it included QR codes. I want to make it as easy as possible for people to connect with me.

6.    I am an All-Star Breakfast Eater! It is my absolute favorite meal of the day!  If I miss it I am crabby and it throws off my whole day.  I love eggs, turkey sausage or bacon, French toast, pancakes, potatoes, and anything else you can think of to eat at breakfast!

That’s a little about me….I want you to link up with Farley too so I can learn more about you!  Hop on over to her page and link up!

Thanks for stopping by!

Tell All Tuesday

Today I am linking up with Teach, Talk, Inspire and My Day In K for Tell All Tuesday.

Today I will share my Teacher Bucket List.
I focused on my first two main goals I hope to accomplish within the next year.

My first goal is to get my administrative licensure in the state of Tennessee. I'll be going into my tenth year of teaching. When I first started I had no intention of going into administration so my master' s degree is in elementary education instead of administration and supervision. As roles in schools begin to change, I hope to move into a leadership or administrative or leadership role in the next couple of years.

My next goal is to present at a conference. I have so many things that I'd like to share with other teachers that will help them throughout their teaching career. I hope to begin creating presentations that will help and inspire others.

What is on your teacher bucket list? Be sure to link up with Teach, Talk, Inspire and My Day in K to share your dreams. I can't wait to see what you guys have to say!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Five for Friday

Hi Friends!
                                            http://doodlebugsteaching.blogspot.com/2015/06/five-for-friday-linky-party-june-19th.html

Today I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday. After school got out I spent two weeks in a great workshop. This has been my first full week of summer vacation. I've had such a great time.

The first thing I did when I got of the workshop was hop on the road! I love road trips! I packed my bags and headed to Grand Rapids, Michigan.  It's about an 8 hour drive from Nashville.  Thankfully, we made it safely.

The second part of my week has been filled with adventure. Grand Rapids is such a beautiful city. I've been sightseeing since I got here. Here are some pictures I took.

The next thing we did this week was enjoy a nice dinner and adult beverage outside at a great restaurant. It was so relaxing and I enjoyed every minute.

The fun didn't stop there, we visited Dave and Buster and played some fun games with some cool kids in the family. They had an awesome time...and so did I!

Today we are going to enjoy some time near the lake. Michigan has many beautiful lakes. There are some great restaurants that sit right on the water.  Can't wait to spend some time enjoying the sights and the smell of the water.

What has your week been like?
I would love to hear all about it. Be sure to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to share!

Stop, Swap, and Post!

Hi Friends!!

Today I am linking up with Jungle Learners for Stop, Drop, and Roll!!  It’s a great link up that allowed us to exchange some wonderful products and use them in our classrooms.  I had so much fun linking up and using my partner’s product in my classroom.

My partner is the spectacular Michelle Webb over at Teaching Ideas for Those Who Love Teaching!  Her blog is super cute and has some great posts and her store has an amazing variety of products.   I chose her product Understanding Air and Water.  My kids love science so they were really excited when I told them what we would be learning about.  They were immediately fascinated because we have had lots of different types of weather lately and they were curious to know why.

We started out by talking about the different types of weather.  The kids really enjoyed discussing the different seasons.  They had to look at pictures and color and label the pictures according to the characteristics.  They enjoyed making each picture come to life with color.

Next, we went on to talk about why weather changes.  The passages from the packet were filled with information!  My kids learned so much.  I really liked that each passage had comprehension questions.  It was easy for me to check for understanding using these.

We finished up this packet by making weather scenes using cut outs.  Some kids chose pictures from the packet and glued them on their paper and created a weather scene.  The packet included a writing page for this activity which was awesome because it really allowed the students to describe what was happening in their story.  They loved this.  They were able to share their writings with their friends.

                                                      We had sooo much fun!

You can win this awesome packet!! Enter the giveaway below!
Please head over to Michelle’s blog and check out the product she picked out from my store, Gloria Who Might Be My Best Friend. I've put my store on sale this week so you can check out some of my other stories as well.  There are a ton of other product swaps and giveaways.  You can check them all out below.  Enjoy!
