Mark Down Monday!

Today I am linking up with Kelly and Kim's Kreations for Mark Down Monday! I am excited to mark down the price of my winter printables.

I use these winter printables to review skills, when I have a sub, or when I am trying to get testing done.  My second graders love using them.

You can catch it HALF OFF until January 30!  So that means you get OVER 30 PAGES for only $1.50!! Click on the picture to get this product at my TpT store.

Let's Stay on Track with 30 Second Share

Hi Friends,

In continuing with staying on track, today I wanted to let you know about the 30 second share.  This is a VERY easy technique that is similar to the exit ticket.  Unlike the exit ticket, students get a chance to verbally express what they learned, and they have the opportunity to relate it to previously learned concepts.

I usually pick a few students to share (about 4 students).  This can be done by calling student numbers or using popsicle sticks.  This is a quick way for students to work on communication and presentation skills.  I usually tell my students to stand up and use a presentation voice.  They love it because they feel like little news reporters.

Check out this free resource by visiting my TpT store, or clicking on the picture.

Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Hi Friends,

Today is the day we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Last week my students learned about him through discussions, short videos, and some research with books and the internet.  We talked about the meaning of the holiday and some things they could do to honor Dr. King on this day.

We also did some writing about Dr. King and completed this cute craftivity from Teaching in High Heels.  She has a great post about MLK and some great resources to match. Check it out here
Here are a couple of the crafts and writing my kids did.  They loved it!

What are some things that you did with your students?
