Mrs. DeCarbo over at Sugar and Spice posted this and I had to join.

I'm kind of late with this post but I had to do it.  I thought this linky party was so cute and thoughtful. It encouraged me to think about my teaching career and some of the things that I think are important and essential to being a good teacher.  I couldn't fit everything that came to mind on the page but I tried my best.

What are your special teaching ingredients?

I'm linking up with Sugar and Spice for Wordless Wednesday

Today I spent a few more hours in my classroom getting things ready for the new school year.
I can't believe the first day of teacher in-service is tomorrow! Summer is gone. :(

What are some things you do to keep your
                  classroom neat and organized?

I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching this week to participate in Five for Friday!  This is my first time and I am super excited to read the other posts for Five for Friday as well.

This week I was really excited because I got a new design for my blog!  I haven't really been a blogger in the past but I am really looking forward to blogging and connecting with other teachers.  I have to send a huge thanks to Designs by Kassie for creating my vision.  I love my design!

I have also been trying to gain some followers!  I launched a small giveaway that includes some small teacher items, a $5 Starbucks gift card, and a $10 TpT gift certificate!  I am excited about this.  Please make sure you enter to win!

Ahhh!! Finally started in my classroom too.  I have sooooo much work to do.  I am hoping to complete it by next Wednesday.  We have inservice beginning Thursday.  Summer is almost gone!

I've been hearing a lot about close reading so I made little bookmarks and small charts for my classroom.  I am going to print on cardstock and laminate the bookmarks for my kiddies.  I hope they help them to become better at comprehension and understanding texts.

Today I am going to work on this blogging thing some more!  I am really excited so today I will be doing some research on how to create and maintain a successful blog.  I can't wait to see what I find!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

After eight years at the same school I recently had to pack everything up and move!  That's right, move!  The school I was at is being converted to an Early Learning Center dedicated to serving Pre-K students.  It's an exciting time for my district because they hope to gain national recognition for this project.  I was at the same school that I student taught at so I always felt like it was my second home.  It was bittersweet to see everyone go but we are all excited about new ventures at our new schools.

This is my new classroom.  It needs LOTS of TLC!  I hope to have it ready  for my students on August 6th when we start school.  I've chosen a sailing/nautical theme so stay tuned for more updated pictures.
My new blog design is here!  I am so excited.  Thanks to Designs by Kassie for helping my vision come to life!!

I have really been a blogger but I plan to post more frequently.  I am really excited to become a part of the blogging community.  Thanks for stopping by!!
